Terminology for Large Organizations is a consortium of terminologists who promote terminology management as an essential part of corporate identity, content development, content management, and global communications in large organizations.

TerminOrgs maintains the TBX-Basic specification.

What is it?

TBX-Basic is an XML format for recording terminological data such as terms, definitions, and usage notes. It is a lighter version of TBX-Default, which is an ISO standard. TBX-Basic reflects industry best-practices for terminology databases that are used for content production purposes such as authoring and translation.

The most recent version is Version 3.1, updated September 12, 2014.
